Different Types of Commercial Refrigeration

Whenever most of us think about refrigeration or having to chill food in any way, we typically think about the type of refrigerators that we have in our home. The fact of the matter is, there is a large demand for commercial refrigeration as well that ranges from blast chillers to display freezers and fish refrigerators. Here is a little bit about the different types of commercial refrigeration that is available, and some specifics on each type of refrigeration.

The first type of commercial refrigeration that we are going to talk about are blast chillers. There are a number of different types of these chillers that are available but the main purpose behind them is to get the food down to a low temperature in the shortest amount of time possible. Most of the blast chillers that are available claim to be able to drop food from a temperature of about 70?F down to below 3?F within 90 minutes. This is especially important in order to remain compliant with some of the regulations that are in place as far as the proper handling of food is concerned. There are plenty of choices available with these blast chillers so make sure that you get one that has all the options that you need.

A couple other types of commercial refrigeration that you may need include display freezers and display fridges. These are typically the ones that you would find in a grocery store or perhaps some kind of a convenience store and allow the customer to be able to see what is on the inside without opening the doors. You may also be able to get a variety of different display fridges that do not include doors. These also can be found in a lot of different food stores and offer the convenience of being able to reach directly down into the compartment in order to pick the food that you want. These display freezers and display fridges also come in smaller sizes as well and many grocery stores keep these upfront with bottled water or other drinks on the inside.

If you're running a grocery store or a fish market, you're going to need a supply of Fish refrigerators as well. These are really just commercial refrigeration that is specifically made in order to handle fish, typically on sliding trays. All that is really necessary for you to do is to decide how much of the demand you have for fish in your market and then to get the appropriate size. Of course, there are a lot of different options that are available for these type of refrigerators as well and you should make sure that you are well prepared as it is important to keep fish at the proper temperature. You can also get fish display cases that are refrigerated in order to have the fish out where your customers can see it but still keep it at a cool temperature.

Smile Shutter? Give Me a Break

Smile Shutter? Give Me a Break

All I want is a cheap digital camera to take traveling with me when I go to Argentina at the start of next year. My sister took a Sony Cybershot camera when she went on holiday and the photos she produced were brilliant, so clean and colourful. I can't afford anything that expensive so I have been trying to scour internet review sites for more informed opinions. Most of the review sites I come across are crammed with the kind of information that I find completely useless. I don't know what the hell a smile shutter is and no one ever bothers to elaborate. All I know is that it doesn't mean that the camera automatically takes a picture when the subject smiles because one could be stupid enough to invent something that ridiculous...could they?

The megapixels, the megapixels and the megapixels are always what you hear people boast about when they get a new camera. After reading as many techie reviews as I could on the net I have learned that unless you're going to crop your photo into oblivion, then the megapixels really don't make that much difference to the average photo taker. This is especially relevant for today's generation who keep most of their photographs on their laptops or just post them on Facebook. Not many people will ever get a big cropped print of their picture and big un-cropped prints apparently look so similar that the human eye can't tell any real difference, according to a test run by The New York Times tech writer David Pogue.

When I took photography A-level at college we learned how to use SLR (single lens reflex) cameras. I bought a 30 year old SLR from a Kodak shop and learned how to put in and wind up my own film. I really enjoyed the times you would get it right with the photograph after successfully steering it through the developing process. Removing the film in complete darkness so as not to damage the image, putting it in the correct mix of developing liquid and then hanging it up to dry was delicate and time consuming but so worth while for the resulting image at the end. When we were offered a choice between using digital or traditional photography to do our final projects, I chose digital. It was a choice I don't regret although I do miss the old school romance of the SLR.

I have decided upon trying to find a second hand digital SLR on the internet as I just can't be bothered with tech shops and assistants raving about the 2.5 - 3.5 steps anti-shake performance and dual anti dust systems. I'm not going to fall for all that salesman nonsense, all I need to know is if it can take a nice picture. Is that really so complicated?

Rechargeable Batteries Can Only Be Charged 300-500 Times - Part 2

In the last two articles we addressed how and why rechargeable batteries have limited charge cycles.,General Characteristics of Lithium**

Rechargeable Batteries Can Only Be Charged 300-500 Times - Part 2

We reviewed in detail the effect of a charge-discharge cycle - a chemical change in a battery system that results in degradation and power loss. But there is one aspect in my last article that deserves special attention. This one factor is the basis of battery degradation. It is the reason why batteries can never just keep going and going and going. The fact is, is that all batteries degrade and lose power because there is a reduction in the battery's active material.

We know that a battery is a device that converts chemical energy into electrical energy. In order to convert chemical energy into electrical energy there is a chain of events that have to occur prior to the creation of electrical energy. The chain of events have been discussed in depth in previous articles which you can access on my blog but what is key to the creation of electricity is that in batteries electrical energy is produced from two chemicals in a solution. After discharging you recharge the battery via a charger. The charge process involves intercalation: the joining of a molecule (or molecule group) between two other molecules (or groups). Intercalation is the process of ions being pushed by electrical current into solid lithium compounds. Lithium is one of the chemical components used to create electrical energy in batteries. Lithium compounds have minuscule spaces between the crystallized planes for small ions to insert themselves from a force of current. Ionizing lithium loads the crystal planes to the point where they are forced into a current flow. Intercalation replenishes, in effect, lithium but the net result of ionization is the ultimate depletion of the lithium reactive property. You could say if you use it you will lose it!

Why then is lithium used as the chemical to create electricity in batteries? There are a number of good reasons - let's look at a few!

General Characteristics of Lithium

* Name: lithium
* Symbol: Li
* Atomic number: 3
* Atomic weight: [6.941 (2)] g m r
* CAS Registry ID: 7439-93-2
* Group number: 1
* Group name: Alkali metal
* Period number: 2
* Block: s-block
* Standard state: solid at 298 K
* Color: silvery white/grey
* Classification: Metallic

Lithium is one of the metals in the alkali group (the other metals include Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Cesium, and Francium). Lithium is a highly reactive metal. Lithium has only one electron in its outer shell (two electrons in its inner shell), which makes it chemically "ready" to lose that one electron in ionic bonding with other elements. Lithium is used as a battery anode material (due to its high electrochemical potential). Electrochemical potential is the sum of the chemical potential and the electrical potential. The higher the electrochemical potential the better the electrical current yields. In some lithium-based cells the electrochemical potential can be five times greater than an equivalent-sized lead-acid cell and three times greater than alkaline batteries. One other core advantage that lithium has is that it is soft and bendable which allows for tight configurations in small cell designs (PDAs. Laptops, Cameras etc...).

Lithium, even with all of its good chemical properties will eventually, however, react to the point where the electrochemical potential will yield a charge that is simply not enough to create current to pass to power a device.

A Review on the Canon Powershot SD890 IS Digital Camera
The Canon Powershot SD890 IS Digital Camera is one of the newest cameras released by Canon. It was released in March of this year. It's priced at approximately $300, so it wasn't necessarily created with the casual photographer in mind. But as you'll soon see, it is worth the price.

We were intrigued by all of the features in this compact camera so we wanted to chat to some digital photography experts and let a few of them take this powershot out into the field and do their thing.

This ten megapixel camera promises unbelievable image resolutions. Ten megapixels are important when you like to print out large renditions of your photos. The lower levels of megapixels in certain cameras tend to turn images grainy when printed in large scale.

Unlike other canon powershot models which are made mostly out of plastic, the majority of the Canon Powershot SD890 IS digital camera is made of metal and is considered to be one of the strongest and weightiest cameras in the "compact" digital camera category, especially for the zoom quality you get.

The camera has a 5x zoom, allowing you high quality resolutions on objects that are fairly far away.
There are a large variety of shooting styles/modes in this Powershot. Our experts especially liked the focus check display mode. This particular feature identifies faces in the playback mode and then zooms in on them. This allows you to make sure that the faces are in focus. Very cool.

The lack of manual control may be frustrating for people who don't like shooting in a pre-set style. While it is true that there are plenty of pre-set options in place on this canon camera, someone who wants to have total control over image exposure might want to consider getting another of the canon digital cameras.

The SD890 IS takes a specially manufactured canon battery. These batteries are rechargeable but they are also a little on the expensive side. And charging can take up to two hours. If you are figuring on doing some time consuming shooting, you may end up spending a few bucks on backup batteries to keep yourself covered while you are in the field.

And finally...after putting the Canon Powershot SD890 IS through its paces, one of our reviewers had this to say: This is a great camera in a small package, which makes it great for people who don't want to have to lug around a huge camera just to get a quality shot. The Canon Powershot SD890 IS digital camera is the best of both worlds: professional quality photographs from a point-and-shoot pocket sized camera."

As you can see, there are plenty of positive attributes to the Canon Powershot SD890 IS Digital Camera. But it would take much more room than we have here to provide a full product report. Fortunately, there is a great resource that you can access. Go to http://www.digitalcameraproductreports.com for detailed in-depth product reports on a variety of different digital cameras in addition to the Canon Powershot SD890 IS reviewed in this article.

Canon EOS 40D Camera Reviews - The Things Buyers Like

Image Quality. 85 buyers were most impressed with the sharp images and brilliant colors they were able to capture with this camera. Many compared them to cameras costing much more.

Speed. 67 buyers raved about the speed at which the camera was able to start up, shoot images and shut down. They particularly like the 6.5 frames-per-second rate allowing them to capture sequences and fast-action shots that previously eluded them. It also allowed them to capture extra portrait images to compensate for photos wrecked by closed eyes when people blink. Sensor Cleaning. 14 buyers commented favorably on the sensor cleaning mechanism which activates automatically when the Canon EOS 40D camera starts up or shuts down. One buyer mentioned this would minimize or eliminate having to send his camera off for cleaning. Another buyer liked the feature but preferred the manual setting which allows him to activate the cleaning function as needed.

1600 ISO 14 buyers mentioned the low noise at high ISO settings.

Autofocus. 13 buyers like the autofocus, commenting that it was faster and more accurate than previous models.

Good Battery. 10 buyers commented on the long life of the Lithium Ion battery that comes with the Canon EOS 40D camera.

Shutter Sound. Eight buyers liked the smooth and quiet sound of the mechanism taking images.

Other features buyers liked included the built-in flash, the second LCD screen on top of the camera, the chord for previewing images on your TV, and the manual which is provided in both English and Spanish.

Canon EOS 40D Camera Reviews - The Things Buyers Don't Like

LCD Resolution. 11 buyers had issues with the 3'' screen. Some felt that it was too hard to see in bright sunlight, some didn't like the smudges left on the screen by their nose or face, and some didn't like the resolution.

EF 28 - 135 IS Standard Zoom Lens. Eight buyers didn't like the kit lens. Mostly, they recommended going with one from the Canon "L" series instead.

Size. Six buyers said the camera was too big and/or too heavy.

Control Layout. Five buyers didn't like the location of the on/off switch or other controls.

Poor Packing. Four buyers were not happy with the way the Canon EOS 40D camera was packed for shipping. They didn't report any damage, but they said there should have been more packing material between the inner and outer boxes.

Poor Auto White Balance. Four buyers felt that the auto white balance wasn't what it should be. However, one mentioned the white balance was fine when set manually.

Compatibility Issue. Three early buyers reported that some Adobe and Apple software didn't support the raw image files from this camera. Another buyer reported the problems have since been solved with software updates from both Adobe and Apple.

No Remote Firing. Three buyers mentioned they wish the Canon EOS 40D camera had wireless infrared firing, like they had with other cameras.

Weak Manual. Three buyers felt the manual was poor and recommended the purchase of a third party book or DVD for better instruction.

Repairs Needed. Two of the 227 buyers reported that repairs were needed, but were covered by the warranty.

Other features that one or two buyers had issues with included: image quality, the menu system, too much noise at the higher ISO settings, poor auto-focus, inadequate flash, poor battery charge meter, and the fact that the viewfinder is not 100%. One buyer also felt the price was too high.

Canon EOS 40D Camera Reviews - The Bottom Line

Overall, the vast majority of buyers love their Canon EOS 40D camera. Of the 227 buyers, 93 percent gave it a four or five-star rating. Accessories recommended by some buyers include a 4GB memory card and a Canon Speedlite 580 EX ll flash attachment.

Should I Buy a Metal Detector?

Should I Buy a Metal Detector?

One of the more enjoyable and profitable family hobbies is treasure hunting with a modern metal detector. It's not just the finding of old coins and lost jewelry, it's the outside fresh air and the exercise that is good for the body. Getting the whole family involved turns this exciting hobby into quality time spent with your spouse, children or grandchildren.

Many find this to be a financially rewarding hobby as well. The really big finds are not just being found by professionals. Thousands of treasure hunters have found that coin shooting can be very profitable.

Treasures of all kinds are being found: gold and silver coins, war relics, jewelry, gold nuggets, and even old rare bottles from trash dumps from the old ghost towns or home places.
With a little research you can find the old treasure stories in your area.... the old timer who buried his gold and silver coins or an outlaws hidden stash from the past. It takes research and a good metal detector to help you pinpoint the find.

If you use your detector seriously, it could easily pay itself many times over with the old coins and artifacts that you can find. Many people think that treasure hunting requires you to dig big holes to recover lost coins and jewelry. It doesn't work that way because the lost objects are not always that deep, but there are times when you know it's time to dig deep!

It's more of the decomposing leaves, sticks, and grass that make up the top soil. It takes a long, long time for items to actually sink into the ground.

A perfect example of this is hunters finding large cents and colonial coins at only a few inches deep. We consider a deep coin at about 6 - 8 inches. If the ground has not been disturbed, (top soil is there) you will sometimes get a deep detector reading which will require you to dig deeper. With most of the top brand detectors -White's, Garrett, Fisher, Tesoro, Bounty Hunter, Teknetics, Minelab, etc- that's not a problem. They have the depth capabilities for any old deep coin.

You will not regret starting this hobby. Who knows, you may even make one of those big finds!

Help promote the hobby and donate any ancient and historical finds to your local museums and societies!

Freezers - a Cold But a Useful World

Freezers - a Cold But a Useful World

One may wonder as to what is a freezer. To put it a simple way, the freezer is an appliance which sheds out the external heat in the environment. Many things can be classified in this category. However for any cooling mechanism to be deemed as a freezer it has to have the capability to keep the inside temperature of its frame just below freezing point. The preferable temperature band is 0 pF or -18 pC and the contents inside the freezer are supposed to be frozen.

The domestic freezer or the refrigerator is the most known appliance to humans today and is being used all over the world in a majority of households. This is an appliance which has a separate compartment for keeping the consumable items for cooling as well as freezing. These have their own cooling mechanisms which use mainly Freon Gas for cooling.

The early years of Freezers had many companies making all kinds of freezers. Then the gas that was being used was the toxic ammonia gas. The replacement with the Freon Gas saw these wonderful freezers enter the domestic market and the refrigerator became a regular household commodity.

The early freezer had very few specialities. They served the basic purpose of cooling and preventing edible items from getting fungus etc. Now-a-days there are many new technologies which have been incorporated in the freezer and so there are now freezers that have come out with facilities like automatic defrosting and cooling and setting different temperatures. Features like the freezer adjusting the temperature by itself as per the heat outside are now a common feature and most of the freezers have this feature.

The market has seen major players churning out high quality and technically advanced freezers today. However, the consumer looks for a defined set of factors when purchasing a freezer. Although the criteria depends upon the customer himself and a defined set of factors is not possible to establish, still there are many things that a customer should look out for when buying a freezer. The most obvious consideration should be the space available in the freezer. A large size means a greater ability to store food. This capacity is usually indicated in litres. However, this should not mean that that the overall freezer should occupy a lot of space. Hence families should go for upright freezers which occupy the minimum of space.

The next consideration should be the assortment of the cabinets inside the freezer. They should be arranged in such a manner that any type of items can be stored in it. Hence the freezer should contain proper racks for storing bottles and there should be separate freezing compartments which should be used to keep items which should be stored at temperatures below freezing point.

Camcorders, the All-in-One Tool

If there's one gadget that you would want to bring especially during a trip, it's the camcorder. After all, capturing a very important moment with your family or friends is priceless. But these days, video capture is not the only purpose of a camcorder. Just like digital cameras, you can also take photographs in high resolution-a feat that was once thought impossible. And things just get better. Most camcorder models today are more compact, making it easier to carry. In fact, they are so small these days that you can mistake one for a digicam. And the best part is that despite its portability, there are a number of added features that users can utilize. And did we mention that most camcorders today are of high definition (or HD) format? You can view vivid videos even if you are watching them on a 42-inch plasma TV. Since this is the digital age, there's no need for DV tapes for recording. Some camcorders today can record a video directly onto a disc. Video transfers are a thing of the past. Today all you have to do is record it and then watch it right away on your DVD player. Of course, you can always edit the videos that you have recorded for a more wonderful viewing experience.

Whether you are on a business trip or having a vacation with the whole family, a camcorder is probably the single tool you will need to make sure that the memories last - The Camcorder.

Apple iPod Review

Apple iPod Review, starting with the 1 GB Shuffle (GB stands for Gigabyte). You can also get the 120 GB iPod Classic, which has either 8 GB or 16 GB...You can get stuff from ABC News, Comedy Central, PBS, ESPN, and many other channels.

Apple iPod Review

Ok, so why is everyone so obsessed with the iPod these days? I mean, are they really necessary? I have plenty of things to listen to music on, including my home stereo system, my car stereo, my walkman, even my computer. Why do I need an iPod?

Well, once I used my friend's iPod, I was hooked! You simply hit play, and the thing will go forever! So yes, I now see the need for an iPod. Maybe you are like I used to be, not sure if you actually need an iPod. Hopefully this Apple iPod review will help you make an educated decision on whether to buy.

There are all kinds of iPods you can buy, starting with the 1 GB Shuffle (GB stands for Gigabyte). You can also get the 120 GB iPod Classic, which is a lot more expensive, but also has a lot more features. There's also the iPod Nano, which has either 8 GB or 16 GB.

You can do all kinds of things with an iPod in addition to listening to songs. You can play games, listen to podcasts and audiobooks, view photo albums, and watch movies and television shows (recorded, not live)

At the iTunes Store, you can get access to thousands of podcasts for free. This is like listening to the radio, without the commercials. You can get stuff from ABC News, Comedy Central, PBS, ESPN, and many other channels.

As I continue with my Apple iPod review, I want to look at the some of the extras that you get with your iPod which are not entertainment related. This includes calendars, contacts, and a world clock. You can also set your iPod so that only you can see the contents on it. And the Apple iPod also has a stopwatch, which is a nice feature for when you go to the gym, which is one of the places where the iPod or any other MP3 player comes in handy the most.

Some of the iPod accessories you get are USB 2.0 cable, dock adapter, quick start guide, and a case.

Hopefully this Apple iPod review was helpful. If you are considering getting one yourself, click here to find some of the cheapest iPods you can find anywhere

Ipod Classic - The Revolutionary Device

Ipod Classic - The Revolutionary Device

Apple has introduced the iPod classic - a medial player that is portable. It is the pride of the iPod family of Apple. Till now the market has seen six generations of the iPod classic. The term `classic` has been used to the sixth generation of the device. It made its debut on 5th September 2007. Hitherto the generic term used was just `iPod`.

All iPods have colour displays using anti-aliased graphics as well as text with sliding facilities for animation. All have five buttons but the later ones - from the 4th generation onwards - use a click wheel. This makes the gadget free from cluttering and the minimum of interfacing. The common five buttons are the menu, center (for selecting an item on the menu), play or pause button that is also used for switching on and off the set, skip forward and skip backwards. The special characteristic of the iPod is its storage capacity. The hard disk can spin up and copy of 30 MB of songs coming in into a RAM. This saves on power.

The first generation of iPod classic made its debut on 23rd October 2001. It had a 5GB hard drive that had the potential to store 1,000 songs. The best thing about the iPod classic was its small size. It used a 1.8`` hard drive while its peers in the market used 2.5`` ones. Thus iPod is easier to navigate by controlling a scroll wheel, button for selecting center as well as 4 subsidiary buttons placed around the wheels. The battery lasted 12 hours.

The second generation of iPod classic made its entry on 20th March 2002. The body was the same but the hold switch consisted of a new design. The fire-wire port came with a cover. The mechanical wheel was done away with. Instead there was a touch sensitive wheel. The corners and edges of the front plate were rounded. The price was also reduced while the capacity strength increased to 20 GB.

The third generation of iPod classic that made its debut on 18th April 2003 was totally new in looks and mechanism. The fire-wire port was replaced with a dock-connector. The touch wheel was totally non-mechanical with the buttons placed in a row sandwiched between the screen and touch wheel. A wired remote connector was used.

This generation of the iPod classic had a 4-pin jack next to the headphone port. The battery life however was lessened to 8 hours due to the use of lithium iron battery. Previously lithium polymer battery was being used. All the iPods were compatible with Mac and PC. iTunes and musicmatch all crowed inside the iPod classic. Later musicmatch was discontinued.

On July 24th the 4th generation of iPod classic appeared on the scene. It was much slimmer. The button arrangement was different. The touch wheel was replaced with the click wheel. The price too was reduced thus making it within easy reach of a larger consumer group. The strength went up to 40GB and the battery life extended to 12 hours.

The 5th generation was one step ahead and entered the market on 12th October 2005. It came to be known informally as the iPod video having a QVGA screen. The click wheel was smaller. An alternative colour scheme was introduced together with `Signature iPod White.` It has a front plate that is fully flat.

On 5th September 2007 the world was introduced to the sixth generation iPod classic. The body was slimmer with a remarkably improved battery life. Up to 40 hours of music can be played and 7 hours of video. The front plat is anodized aluminum and polycarbonate plastic. This time the signature model of white was replaced by silver.

Blu-Ray Players - Are They That Good?

Blu-Ray Players,A single-layer Blu-ray disc-standard DVD. However it can hold up to 27 GB,marked "Blue-ray" DVDs.

Blu-Ray Players - Are They That Good?
Thinking about purchasing one of the new Blu-ray DVD players? Are they worth it? If you are a true audiophile, or home theater buff the answer may be in this article.

The Blu-ray players are the next-generation digital video platform. The players and their discs can record, store and play back high-definition video and digital audio, as well as computer data. Their big advantage being the enormous amount of information a Blu-ray disc can hold.

A single-layer Blu-ray disc is about the same size as a standard DVD. However it can hold up to 27 GB of data. This equates to more than two hours of high-definition video, or about thirteen hours of standard video.

Another difference is: the standard DVD player has a red laser that reads the DVD. With the Blu-ray DVD player it is a blue laser (technically violet) that reads the disc.

The Blu-ray discs have a much superior picture, and sound than the standard DVD discs. And, best of all they are indestructible. Something the standard DVDs are not. There is a video out that has a fantastic demonstration of this.

First, steel wool was vigorously rubbed over the playing surface of a Blu-ray disc. Then the disc was played, no problem, it played back fine. Next, came the ball point pen. They wrote all over the playing surface, no problem with playback.

After the ball point pen came the pizza cutter. You would think that this would be the end of the disc, but it was not. It played back fine. Then came the butcher knife, no problem, the disc is still around. The last demo was trying to burn the Blu-ray disc. That did not work either. The disc was still in excellent playing condition.

The one thing that movie buffs, or audio buffs worry about is a damaged CD or DVD disc. I loaned, my bad, one of my favorite DVDs out to someone, who I thought, would take care of it. They did not and I had to replace it.

When you rent out standard DVDs, unless you are the first one to rent them, they usually look like people eat off of them and then use them as Frisbees. Have you ever gotten a bad DVD and it won't play on your DVD player when you get it home?

The point being, wouldn't it be nice to know that, no matter what happens to a Blu-ray DVD disc it will faithfully play back like it is brand-new?

Think about the last time you went to your local movie rental store that there was a small section, off by itself, marked "Blue-ray" DVDs. Of course, unless you have a Blu-ray DVD player you probably walked right by them. Right now there is hardly what you would want to call a ton of Blu-ray discs out there, but this is changing rapidly.

It's a new and very exciting technology and one that is here to stay. Oh, by the way, that small section of the movie rental store will be getting much, much larger by the week.

One studio, for example, Warner Brothers has more or less bagged the HD DVD format in favor of a Blue-ray exclusive. This means more movies than ever are going to be coming out in that format from them. Others will follow suit.

The advent of the Blu-ray players and discs are nothing but exciting. We think you will find them exciting, too! You can purchase a quality Blu-ray player in the $300.00 price range. It will even enhance your current standard DVDs to High Definition playback. Make sure your current TV is compatible to receive the full benefits of Blu-ray players. If playing your CDs or burned CDs with MP3 files are an issue, make sure the model you choose has that option. Many even in the lower price brackets do.

If you want the experience the best in movie and audio reproduction via your Home Theater, or computer consider a Blu-ray DVD Player. It breeds excitement. Read more about Blu-ray DVD players on my lens @ http://www.squidoo.com/blue-ray-players

Beware of the New iPod Nano

iPod Nano and iTunes 8. These new products,"Shake to shuffle", which senses when you shake the player and automatically enters into the shuffle mode.

Beware of the New iPod Nano

Apple just announced the new version of iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iTunes 8. These new products, as announced on 9-9-08, all include a new features called "Genius", which is a new technology from Apple to create playlists based on the song you're listening to and the music in your library in an easy way.

The fourth-generation iPod Nano is only 0.2 inches thick, the thinnest player Apple has ever made. The screen size, however, is kept as previous model. In addition a new accelerometer is built into Nano to enable resizing photos and menus based on the orientation of the player which was available on iPhone and iPod Touch previous models.

The new cool feature "Shake to shuffle", which senses when you shake the player and automatically enters into the shuffle mode. The "Shake to shuffle" feature also uses accelerometer technology.

The iPod Nano uses general-purpose integrated circuits (IC) instead of smaller, low-cost custom-developed chips, possibly to reduce time-to-market. This design, however, increases the number of electronic components and increases the cost. It uses PortalPlayer PP5021C "system on a chip" with dual embedded 80 MHz ARM 7TDMI processors. It also uses "surface mount technology" which was employed in mobile phones in 2005.

Many recent reports indicates that iPod has some fundamental electronic design flaws that causes flame or sparks when being charged: For example, there was a report that in Australia, an iPod Nano flamed up while being charged on a PC. Apple is investigating these reports and does not have any conclusive response yet.

Canon Powershot A640 Digital Cameras

Canon Powershot A640 Digital Cameras**The ISO range is 80 to 800, aperture vary from f/2.8 to f/4.1 and shutter speed vary from1 /2,500 to 15 seconds....

Canon Powershot A640 Digital Cameras
The Canon Powershot A640 Digital Camera comes with a 10 Megapixel CCD sensor, allowing capturing of image as large as 3,648x2,736 pixels. It also comes with a 2.5 inch color swivel LCD monitor, optical viewfinder, and a 4x glass lens equivalent to 35 mm. The optical viewfinder comes handy when the LCD does not give the true picture in ambient light. The swivel LCD, on the other hand, allows you to compose shots from angles normally not possible, like from above your head or below your waist.

The camera comes with full auto focus as well as manual focus possibilities, along with an auto focus assist light. The ISO range is 80 to 800, aperture vary from f/2.8 to f/4.1 and shutter speed vary from1 /2,500 to 15 seconds.

There are three scene modes, various special effect modes and a movie mode too. The movie mode allows capturing of footage unto one hour or one Gigabytes per clip.

The Canon A640 uses SD and/or MMC Cards to store the images. It uses a USB 2.0 High speed connection for connection to a MAC or PC. Like many of the Canon A series cameras, A650 also can print directly through USB, if connected using the PictBridge technology.

The camera body is black in color. It is hefty compared to the ELPH cameras, and more like other A series cameras, more retro in style. But it provides a firm grip, allowing to take a snap with less shake. The menu buttons are conveniently located in the right side of the back panel.

The camera speed is commendable. It does not take much time to start up or shut down. The shutter speed is convenient too for those who wish to take continuous shots. But the good point about the camera is that the shots taken are truly good, colors are natural and detailing is quite well, even in the most unpromising scenario.

The camera runs on four AA batteries. The package comes with a set of four disposable batteries, and 32 MB MMC, so it would be better if you purchase some extra batteries and a bigger capacity card along with your camera.

Thank you for reading my article. If you are looking for a great deal on Canon Powershot A640 Digital Cameras visit my website. We have amazon, ebay and youtube videos to help you find the best deals at the prices.

Review of Sandisk 4GB Cruzer Titanium

Alright, so I'm going to do my first review on a USB Flash Drive. Seeing as these are widely used at our school and purchased in high quantities. I can safely say that I have a pretty good idea which ones are the best.

We recently
purchased several Sandisk 4GB Cruzer Titanium Plus USB Flash Drives and have found that they are very secure and reliable. The new Cruzer Titanium Plus USB flash drive offers an automatic and seamless online back up option with device password protection and hardware AES encryption so you can easily access your files on the device or online.

You can confidently store all your sensitive, important data without the fear of losing the device or accidentally deleting the files. Cruzer Titanium Plus is not only packaged in a rugged, crush resistant metal case, but also it provides you with added security by keeping the files on your device also backed up online, in case you ever need them.

Although priced just a LITTTLE more than other USB Drives on the market, I can honestly say that these seem to be more reliable. The reason I found these better is because of the durability. I personally like the keep my USB flash on a keychain or backpack. The metal loop that this device comes with is much more reliable then the strings that come with the Kingston sticks.

This Thumb Drive is a little gem, but the U3 software that comes with it should be made optional to non-technical users. For me, I cannot use the TD with its software because of security issues imposed by what I do. Trying to delete the software from the drive, non-techies will find that it replicates upon reconnecting the TD. To clean the drive, you can use the U3 removal software that is available online by doing a search for U3 removal software... or better yet just format the sucker! If you work in a highly secure environment. After you do this... the TD is SUPER!

However you may want to save your U3 software on your personal computer before your zap it! The best thing I like about this TD, is there is no cap to lose, and it comes with a secure carrying system.

Both Pocket Clip and Necklace system. I only wish this design would be available in an 8-16 GB version.
That's it for now! More to come.

Massage Chair Review - Panasonic EP1272 Massage Chair Recliner

Panasonic EP1272 Massage Chair Recliner;There are 4 automatic massage programs, 8 manual massage programs, and 3 manual back massage courses....

Massage Chair Review
- Panasonic EP1272 Massage Chair Recliner

We will take a look at the EP-1272 which is part of the Real Pro Elite series of massage chair by Panasonic. The EP 1272 is a mid range shiatsu massage recliner with advanced massage therapy features. We will review some of the main features and touch on the warranty coverage as well.
Here is our evaluation and review of the EP 1272 shiatsu massage recliner.

We will start with the warranty coverage and then cover some of the important feature of the chair. Panasonic is a major electronics company with many products. The warranty service for this massage chair is initially provided through your retailer. If service is required, then the chair must be sent to an authorized repair center. The warranty coverage for this model is as follows: 3 years parts, 1 year labor. This is fairly short compared to other major manufacturers in the industry, which is somewhat surprising for such a large company.

Let's look at some of the more important features of this shiatsu recliner. There are many therapeutic massage functions incorporated into this model. There are 4 automatic massage programs, 8 manual massage programs, and 3 manual back massage courses. There are also lower body air massage capabilities for the calves and feet.

The 4 automatic programs include: shiatsu, Swedish, stretch and quick. Shiatsu provides overall stimulation of the back, neck and shoulders utilizing the soft shiatsu, deep rubbing and tapping actions. Swedish provides overall loosening of the muscles in the back, neck and shoulders using longer strokes, circular motions and rhythmic actions. Stretch provides overall stretching of the back muscles using the rolling, pressing, shiatsu and kneading massages. Quick provides loosening of the back, neck and shoulders using rhythmic actions, circular motions, squeezing and tapping.

The 8 manual massage modes include the following massage techniques: kneading, compression, Swedish, Hawaiian, soft shiatsu, tapping, regional rolling and full rolling. Kneading is particularly effective for the neck and shoulders. Compression is recommended for full body relaxation. Swedish loosens up large areas of the back. Hawaiian helps to relieve tension in the lower back. Soft shiatsu is excellent for loosening up knots in the back. Tapping loosens up the finer muscles of the neck or as a finishing massage. Regional rolling provides focused rolling out of the back muscles. Full rolling provides overall stretching of the back muscles.

The leg rest has a dual purpose massage. It can be used to massage the calves or the feet. If you place your legs into the leg rest, then it will target your calves. To massage your feet, the leg rest must be raised more horizontal and you must bend your knees to place your feet in. The leg rest provides an air compression massage. This is accomplished by energizing airbags built into the leg rest. They provide a gentle or firm squeeze, hold and release massage. This is particularly effective to relieve tight, sore or aching muscles in the calves and feet.

The remote control of the EP 1272 is well designed. The main automatic programs work from one-touch buttons. The manual massage functions are contained in a middle side panel of the main remote. The side panel can be flipped open to reveal the manual controls. You can adjust the massage intensity or speed. There is a function to adjust the width of the back rollers. This is used on the tapping, soft shiatsu and rolling massages. You can also select the area of focus for the back. There are options for the neck/shoulders, lower back and for pinpointing.

Overall, the Real Pro Elite model EP 1272 is a well designed shiatsu recliner. It comes with an excellent variety of massage therapies and can be effectively targeted to specific regions. The design aesthetics of the chair could have been better along with the warranty. The Panasonic EP 1272 does deliver effective massage therapy, so if you are in the market for a mid range massage chair, then this deserves your serious consideration.
